Designed to challenge and expand the boundaries of each artistic medium and create a continuous cycle of inspiration and response. \nInterplay Improv Jam is a casual\, open-ended jam session where musicians\, dancers\, and visual artists can come together to play\, move\, and make art in real time. It’s all about listening\, responding\, and letting different forms of expression influence each other. This event aims to be a welcoming space where creativity flows and collaborations happen naturally. Whether you’re jamming on an instrument\, moving through space\, or sketching what you see and feel\, there’s room for you at the Interplay Improv Jam! \nCome as you are. Bring what you love. Let’s see what unfolds as movement meets melody\, and art comes alive in the moment. This isn’t a performance – it’s a space for spontaneous collaboration between art forms. \nOpen to all levels and backgrounds. Come to create\, observe\, or simply vibe. Space is limited and registration is recommended. \nInterplay Improv Jam was created in partnership with the MacLaren Art Centre and Simcoe Contemporary Dancers. This activity is funded by the City of Barrie for Culture Days 2025.

SUMMARY:22nd Annual Celebration of Dance
DESCRIPTION:SCD is thrilled to announce that we are hosting the 22nd Annual Celebration of Dance on May 19\, 2026 at 6:30 pm at Georgian Theatre! \nCelebration of Dance is a special fundraising event where SCD invites dancers from all over Simcoe County to come together to raise money for a local charity. This event is an amazing opportunity to see a variety of dance styles and unique choreography while supporting a worthy cause. \nSince the inception of Celebration of Dance\, the event has raised over $45\,000 for charities! \nThis year we will be hosting Celebration of Dance in support of Glowing Hearts Charity – an organization whose focus is to disrupt the cycle of poverty by providing programs that reduce barriers and support the mental health\, growth\, and development of school-age children and youth in Simcoe County.
